What is the LocalBusiness & FAQ Schema Generator?
The EduTechToday Schema Generator is a free tool that creates LocalBusiness and FAQPage structured data in JSON-LD format. It covers your business type, address, phone, opening hours and profile links, and produces code you can paste into WordPress and validate in Google’s Rich Results Test.
How to use the LocalBusiness & FAQ Schema Generator
- Choose LocalBusiness or FAQ schema with the tabs.
- Fill in the fields. For LocalBusiness, use details that match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Click Generate schema and copy the code.
- Paste it into your page’s <head> (on WordPress, with WPCode or your SEO plugin) and check it in Google’s Rich Results Test.
Why LocalBusiness schema helps AI visibility
Schema markup turns facts on your page into labelled data: this is the business name, this is the address, these are the hours. Search engines and AI systems can read that without guessing. The sameAs links are especially useful because they connect your website to your Google, Yelp, Facebook and directory profiles as one business.
Pick the most specific business type
Schema.org has specific types such as Dentist, Plumber, Attorney and HVACBusiness. Use the most specific one that fits. If none fits, LocalBusiness is fine.
A note on FAQ rich results
Since 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of well-known government and health sites, so most businesses won’t see FAQ dropdowns in search. FAQPage markup still labels your questions and answers clearly, which can help search engines and AI tools understand the page.
Why I built this
Schema won’t magically rank a weak page, but it removes guesswork. When your name, address, hours and profiles are labelled clearly and match your Google Business Profile exactly, search engines and AI tools have one consistent version of you to work with. The sameAs links are the part most people skip, and they matter most.

Frequently asked questions
What is LocalBusiness schema?
Structured data in the schema.org vocabulary that describes a business with a physical location: name, address, phone, hours, website and related profiles.
Where do I add schema on WordPress?
In the page’s <head>, using a plugin such as WPCode, or your SEO plugin’s schema settings. Add LocalBusiness to your homepage and contact page.
Does schema improve rankings?
Not directly. It helps search engines and AI tools understand your information accurately, which supports rich results and correct citations.
Should my schema match my Google Business Profile?
Yes, exactly: the same name, address, phone and hours. Mismatches weaken trust in both.
How do I test my schema?
Use Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator at validator.schema.org.
