- Open each prompt in ChatGPT or Perplexity with the buttons, or copy it into Gemini.
- Tick "Named" if the answer mentions your business. Your score updates as you go.
- AI answers change between sessions. Re-test every month and compare scores, rather than trusting a single run.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us. The ChatGPT and Perplexity buttons open those sites with the prompt filled in.
What is the ChatGPT Prompt Finder?
The EduTechToday ChatGPT Prompt Finder is a free tool that turns your business type and city into 20+ realistic customer questions, so you can test whether ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini name your business. You tick the prompts where you appear and get an AI visibility score to track over time.
How to use the ChatGPT Prompt Finder
- Enter your type of business, your city, your business name and up to three main services.
- Click Find my prompts. You’ll get prompts grouped by how customers search: finding, services, trust, urgency, comparison and brand.
- Open each prompt in ChatGPT or Perplexity with the buttons, or copy it into Gemini or Google’s AI Mode.
- Tick Named whenever the answer mentions you, then download the CSV tracker and re-test monthly.
Why one test isn't enough
AI assistants don’t give the same answer twice. Results change with wording, location, chat history and model updates. A single “best dentist in Austin” test tells you very little. Testing 20 varied prompts, and repeating every month, shows you a pattern you can actually act on.
How to read your score
- Under 30%: AI tools mostly recommend competitors. Start with your Google Business Profile, reviews and NAP consistency.
- 30–60%: you appear for some questions. Look at which groups you miss. Missing service prompts usually means thin service pages.
- Over 60%: strong visibility. Keep reviews coming and pages up to date to hold it.
What to do when competitors are named instead
Write down who gets named. Then compare their Google Business Profile, review count and recency, website service pages and directory listings with yours. AI tools tend to recommend the businesses with the most consistent, specific and recent information across the web.
Why I built this
The question I hear most from business owners is “Does ChatGPT recommend us?” One search can’t answer that, because AI answers shift from one chat to the next. A set of 20 varied prompts, tested once a month, gives you a trend you can actually trust and act on. That’s the habit this tool is built to start.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my business?
Ask it the questions a customer would ask, with your service and city, and see whether you’re named. Use several wordings and repeat over time, because answers vary.
Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitors?
Usually because they have more complete and consistent information online: a well-filled Google Business Profile, more recent reviews, clear service pages and listings on trusted directories.
Does this tool query ChatGPT for me?
No. It writes the prompts and opens ChatGPT or Perplexity with the prompt filled in, so you see the real answer in your own browser.
Does it work for Gemini and Google AI Mode?
Yes. Copy any prompt and paste it into Gemini or Google’s AI Mode.
Is my information stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and the tracker downloads to your own computer.
