Samsung may not be especially attached to the Galaxy Fold identity. The historically reliable leaker, Ice Universe, has claimed that Samsung’s reported clamshell foldable phone might be referred to as the Galaxy Z Flip, not Fold 2, Bloom, or different rumored names. We might take the claims with a small grain of salt when there is not much corroborating evidence (Ice acknowledged that the emblem is a mockup), it might make sense given the nature of the device — it is a flip phone that folds in the Z-axis, after all.
The handset is rumored to debut beside the next Galaxy S (Ice also believes it is going to be named the Galaxy S20) at Mobile World Congress in late February. Inestimable little is known about what this device would incorporate, though it may need a hole-punch camera, an external fingerprint reader, and a small exterior show for notifications. Very like Motorola’s revived RAZR, the Galaxy Z Flip would focus extra on cramming a full-fledged smartphone right into a compact design than attempting to maximize display space. It might cost much less as a result, though we nonetheless cannot think about it being cheap when foldable-screen phones are still in their early days.
