Nintendo will start selling a particular Animal Crossing Switch in March, but it will not be releasing a model-new model this year. Shuntaro Furukawa, the gaming giant’s president, and CEO has laid rumors to rest that an upgraded model of the console is on the way. In a name with investors, the executive said: “Please note that we now have no plans to launch a brand new Nintendo Switch model throughout 2020.” Instead, the company will focus on “communication the appeal” of the current consoles and expanding their userbase.
Taiwanese magazine DigiTimes claimed earlier this month that the company is releasing a new model sometime in mid-2020, with quantity production to start this first quarter. There have been several speculations that it was going to be the Switch Pro. We nonetheless don’t know if Nintendo truly is working on a Pro version of the console. However, Furukawa’s assertion makes it clear that followers will not be getting their palms on one this year even when a Pro model is in development.
