BlueMail returns to Apple App Store eight months after it was removed. If you’ll recall, the email app’s producers accused the tech giant last year after it originated the “Sign in with Apple” trait, which lets you signal into apps and web sites with your Apple ID to guard your info. BlueMail’s developer, Blix, claimed the function violates its 2017 “Share Email” patent that its app uses. As well as, BlueMail vanished from the App Store shortly after the “Sign up with Apple” function was introduced. Now, the app is available for download again, and Blix considers the development demonstrates “the effectiveness of public pressure.”
The developer last year wrote an open letter to Tim Cook, asking him to “deal with small builders with equity and empathy.” And, on 4th Feb, Blix addressed the developer community in “a name for unity towards the largest tech.” In its newer letter, the company detailed the difficulties it faced in getting its app relisted, including being told that BlueMail could not be passed because it did not work with macOS Catalina when it did, as being given inconsistent guidance by different Apple teams.
